In a move to sweeten the deal for PlayStation owners, Sony has just announced an exciting addition to its PlayStation Plus service. Certain subscribers will now gain access to an exclusive catalog of ad-free movies, and the best part is, you can watch them right on your PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5.
This thrilling announcement was made via a recent post on the PlayStation Blog. Sony is undergoing a rebranding effort for its movie service, formerly known as Bravia Core, which will now go by the name Sony Pictures Core. If you’re not familiar with Bravia Core, it was initially launched in early 2021 but had limited availability, mainly restricted to Bravia TVs and specific Xperia devices.
Now, this exciting collaboration opens up a world of cinematic entertainment for PS4 and PS5 owners. You can buy or rent from a selection of up to 2,000 movies, all conveniently accessible directly from your console. This extensive library includes blockbuster titles like “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Uncharted,” “The Equalizer,” “No Hard Feelings,” “Bullet Train,” “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” and many more.
But there’s an additional treat for PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe members. As part of their membership perks, they’ll have access to a curated catalog of up to 100 movies through the Sony Pictures Core app, all free of pesky ads. And the best part? This movie catalog will receive periodic updates, so there’s always something new to watch. Among the films available to subscribers are “Resident Evil Damnation,” “Elysium,” and “Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV.”
